Fit For Work Medical

If your employees regularly do work activities which require a level of fitness, then a Fitness for Work or Fit for Work medical can help to understand if an employee is medically fit to do their job safely.

The Construction and Demolition Industry frequently use Fitness for Work medicals to ensure that employees are medically fit to do their job safely. Other employees such as those driving Fork-Lift Trucks, working in Confined Spaces or in Physically demanding roles may also benefit from a Fit For Work Medical.

The following will be carried out during a Fit For Work Assessment:

  • Completion of a General Health Questionnaire
  • A Physical Examination for Height, Weight and BMI, Blood Pressure, Pulse, Urinalysis, General Vision, Field of Vision, Whisper Test for Hearing, Balance and Limb Movements.
  • At the time of the Physical Examination, the clinician will review the medical questionnaire and have a relevant lifestyle discussion with the individual.
