About_Us_Icon_Pale_Green

Here at the multi-award-winning Solihull Health Check Clinic, we understand that leading a healthy lifestyle is the most important way you can maintain your health as you get older. We will undertake comprehensive, painless, accurate, affordable and convenient screening tests to give us a good ideaif you require further investigations.

Our purpose

Many serious conditions can be reversed if identified early enough. Having these simple tests done every year, allows us to identify changes in your health and deal with them quickly. All of our simple and non-invasive tests are suitable for those who just want reassurance and support while maintaining a healthy lifestyle, as well as those who already have conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity, that require monitoring.

We offer simple blood screening that can identify important risk factors for heart disease and diabetes. The instruments we use to perform your tests are lab accurate and are used by major hospitals, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and laboratories. Results are provided in a comprehensive report and any advice and lifestyle recommendations are given in an action plan.

Nurse RGN, DFSRH, PGA Medical Education (SRH)

I attended King Edwards VI Grammar School for Girls in Handsworth until 1987. I did my nurse training at the Queen Elizabeth College of Nursing and qualified as an RGN in 1990. I worked initially at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston for the first few years after qualifying. In 1992 I jumped ship and moved into the community as a Practice Nurse until I had my first daughter in 1996. To fit in with family life (and to stay sane) I started working for Brook in Birmingham. This was where I really started to become interested in Women’s health. I have now worked in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare for over 25 years.

I have completed the Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and I am a nurse prescriber. I hold the Letters of Competence for fitting both coils and implants. (IUCDs and SDIs). I hold an additional qualification as a Faculty Registered Trainer and have a passion for education. I continue to hold a training clinic once a week and teach both doctors and nurses to fit coils and Implants. I am a Member of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and spent two terms on the General Training Committee supporting education in practice.

I believe passionately in supporting and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their contraceptive choices.

Outside my day job, I am a mum of 3 grown-up children and a Labradoodle called Digby. I have a wide circle of friends whom I enjoy spending time with especially if a glass or two of wine and good food is part of the deal!
I’m more beach than mountains but love the peace and tranquillity of being up a mountain on a pair of skis.
I love contemporary art and art galleries and in particular the annual Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy.
I enjoy watching almost all sports and do try to keep fit but could and should do better!
