Bowel / Colon Screening

Bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the UK with more than 40,000 people being diagnosed with bowel cancer annually.

The risk of bowel cancer increases with age, with over 80% of bowel cancers arising in people who are 60 or over. Therefore, offering this form of screening to men and women at the age of 55 will play a significant role in identifying abnormalities at an early stage that could develop into bowel cancer if not detected.

We encourage all eligible men and women to attend their bowel screening appointment when invited.
